No Time to Quit Trying

Never give up on what you know you really should do. The person with big dreams is more powerful than one with all the facts. Remember overnight success takes about 10 years. The "man of the hour" spent many days and nights getting there. Consider the man who said "My overnight success was the longest night of my life." Winners simply do what losers don't want to do.

In the confrontation between the stream and the rock, the stream always wins - not through strength but perseverance. Christopher Morley says, "Big shots are only little shots that keep shooting".

Judas was an example of someone who began the good fight but lacked persistence. Many of the world's great failures did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up. Stopping at third base adds no more score than striking out.

Enduring is a military term meaning to hold up courageously under fire. When you feel like quitting. bring more of God into that area of your life. Proverbs 16:3 NIV says, "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed."

Trying times are no time to quit trying. The secret of success is to start from scratch and keep on scratching. Success is failure turned inside out, the silver lining in the clouds of doubt. The Wonders of Heaven

I took the above picture yesterday between 5:30pm - 6:00pm. I was travelling in Andy's car. We were on PIE and i saw the above. It was so wonderful, majestic and glorious. It seems like heaven is piercing through earth to eliminate darkness. Take time to notice the wonders of heaven around us daily.

Speech Day

The guys were playing "number game". Whoever guesses a number (1-99) correctly, will get to do push-ups. In the final round, it was suggested that whoever guesses a number (from 1-99) correctly, will not get to do 50 push-ups. Then, the guys (four of them) asked me to type a number on Jeremy's mobile phone. To ensure i'm playing it fair, i asked Jeffrey & Tim to witness the number typed i.e. 53. The number game began with Kiat Sheng. And he said, "53". I was dumb-founded. He actually got it correct at first-go! The game have just began & it ended on-the-spot! What a joke?! Everyone had a good laugh!

Thankful to God for a brand new all-in-one (AIO) printer i.e. scan, print & photocopy. Hopefully, it is cost-savings when it comes to ink cartridges. My previous old hp printer uses hp 15 & hp 78 ink cartridges. It costs between $40-$50 to purchase one. The new AIO printer uses hp 74 & hp 75 ink cartridges. It costs between $20-$30 to purchase one. Now, let's hope that the ink will last!

my favourites

These are my favourites pastries i.e. bread from Four leaves, muffins from Hans, Coffeebean, MacDonalds etc.., blueberries tarts from Mirana Cake House! In fact, i ate it all for dinner this evening. Inclusive of one egg mayo hot dog bun that i bought from Hans (Simei) this evening. Plus a chicken bun and yam cake! =D

Journey to work

This is where i have been treading on since November 2007. Jeremy & Yong joined me in early & mid-December 2007 as part-timers. The 15th day of March this year will be their last day of work. I will surely miss their company. May the following photos bring back wonderful memories whenever it is being viewed.

Personal Conviction!

This can't be true?! Almost every other day upon reaching home, mom will share or do something that will trigger me! And when this happens, i know it very well that the devil is at work!

Last evening, i went to NTUC after work and saw these ORGANIC grapes from Australia. Though it costs about $7 per box, but i knew it's worth the money to consume fruits without traces of chemicals. And i bought 2 boxes for mom and my little niece (as it is seedless).

Upon reaching home tonight, mom started to share that she heard from somewhere to be careful of fruits with black spots. Yes! You guessed it correctly! She threw away practically almost a box of the organic grapes!!! O man, i was so p****d with the devil!

Thus, straight after my shower, i went about my house and started praying! AND when i entered the guest room, i was so surprised the aircon was ON!!! The immediate question was, "Who turned it ON?" As mom was in her room sleeping and i have my personal room. O man! If i didn't go about praying, it would have been a total waste of electricity!!!

Sure you can disagree entirely with what i am sharing above w.r.t. the devil who is actively at work to inconvenient us. Or worst still, destroying us ... families, relationships... 'slowly but surely'!!!

Whatever your belief system is, i will respect it. So, please respect mine even if it's an Inconvenient Truth!

My personal conviction is this, God is at work in winning souls, the devil is at work in destroying His creation. God has done everything to win us back. The devil will do everything to make us loose it. God wants us to pray unceasingly. The devil wants us to stop praying. God wants us to rise up & worship! The devil wants us to be a sloth! Yes, everything that God intends good for us, the devil will want to destroy it!

In conclusion, it's either you are in God's army (battling!), or you are not.

Who's side are you on today?

It is written, "But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD." - Joshua 24:15

Is 'means testing' MEAN?

What is means testing? Is it really mean? Why is it so unpopular? Do you know there are more than a type of means testing in Singapore? Does it concern me? These are basic questions that everyone should be asking. The simple reason is because health care is getting costlier, not just in Singapore, but worldwide!

Thus, governments everywhere are finding it extremely challenging to draft policies that will not drain financial resources. This is particularly true when the world population is 'greying'. Where the old lives longer and the young are not getting married earlier! As such, in the long run, you will have lesser people working to support a greying population!

This also explains why the need to welcome foreign talents and the need to increase our population from 4 million to over 6 million! = )
