Simply Thankful

We're so undeserving, yet God is so gracious and often gives us things that we don't deserve. I'm simply thankful to God for helping me to pass my English Entrance Proficiency Test i.e. Oral & Written papers.

On Second Thought

Yupzz.. after buying it for mom this evening... she didn't like it!

I also discovered the rice above is not tasty though it's called "Tasty Rice" and the thousand island (dressing) for 'House Salad' is a little 'miserable'.

Moreover, mom found the grilled fish above, rice and vegetables "salty".
It's not really 5 Stars afterall. 3/5 instead. =D

'5 Stars Western Food'

If you are looking for so-called '5 Stars Western Food' at Heartlanders' pricing, you must try Aston (not sure if spelled correctly) in Bedok. It's the Coffeeshop next to BK. It's simply Delicious! The portion is great too & it comes with 2 side dishes. Only $5.90 for Grilled Fish. =D

Rejoicing in Heavens

This is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it! Praise be to God for Jeremy Chua and Yong Siang's Baptism at East Coast Beach this afternoon. It was an extremely SIMPLE ceremony, yet! there is so much of "... rejoicing in heaven... " over one sinner who repents... "

Thank God for a wonderful day!

Sunday Sermon

It's been such a long time that I didn't hear a sermon that have touched my heart in a very special way. Thanks be to God for using Senior Pastor Philip Tan to invite Pastor Benny Ho (Faith Community Church, Perth) to Bethesda Community (BC) this morning. His '3 simple points' message is simply remarkable!

1. You need not fear: HE is our Refuge
2. You need not faint: There's a River within
3. You need not fret; God has given us a Revelation (Psalm 46:10)

In addition, Noah's Ark didn't have a rudder nor a sail. Nevertheless, God is in control and determines where it would land. Likewise, our lives are similar to Noah's Ark i.e. not knowing where it will lead us. Nonetheless, this is where Faith must come in. Trust in God!

Waking up at 5:45am; Getting out of bed by 6am;
Leaving home by 6:45am;
Reaching BAC in Bedok by 7:30am is simply no joke!
This calls for a 'Disciplined-Life'.

Bedok NTUC

Apparently, there was a fire just outside of Bedok NTUC recently. As a result, the nearby Pasar Malam was called-off. Interesting, I heard it from the kids at BAC-Bedok.

Loss & Grief

My heart aches in learning about the recent cyclone nargis that flooded Myanmar and earthquake that rocked and flatten many parts of Sichuan, China. These are great losses of lives and the aftermath will be very painful for many to bear. Especially those who have survived, made homeless and lost their loved ones. The grief is unimaginable... And our applause to Premier Wen, who has done a great job thus far. Both Myanmar & China need our prayers and whatever help the world can offer.

"Dear God, please have mercy on us."

A time to Pray

This is a time to remember to pray for those suffering in Asia.
Take time to pray. "God, have mercy on us."

Making Decision

Today, 13 May 2008, I've made a decision to join the teaching profession. It wasn't an easy decision, nonetheless, it's important to do our utmost best to 'hear & obey' and 'take a step at a time'. God knows best! And all His plans are good, not to harm us, but to give us a future and a hope! (Jeremiah 29:11) To God be the Glory and may the BB Ministry continue to grow from strength to strength!

The Battle is ON!

Dear Fellow Believers-in-Christ Jesus,

This is a gentle reminder that 'The Battle is ON!' since the Creation of TIME. Therefore, kindly please brace yourself for BATTLE! Put on the FULL armour of God (Ephesians 6:10-24) and take your position. Know that 'The Battle Belongs to the Lord'! He will fight for us! Take your Stand in The Word. BELIEVE. God does not lie. "Heaven & earth will pass away but My Word will last forever!", says the Lord.

Remaining in Christ

Senior Pastor Philip Tan preached on the above today. It was taken from John 15, which happens to be my personal life-chapter. Over the years, God has been using John 15 to 'speak' to me. For example, during my very first church service in Tasmania (back in 1995), someone stood up in front of me to read John 15. I felt God telling me, "I am with you to the ends of the earth!" That was really assuring. Our God is an awesome God.

Global Day of Prayer!

It's Mothers' Day

It was a Saturday's afternoon where Tim & myself went to shop for gifts for Mothers' Day. Tim bought 6 bottles of 'snow nest' for his Mom (forgot to snap a pic) and a bottle of red wine for his god-mother. It's very thoughtful of him to do so. As for me, once again, I bought a cake for Mom, where she ate upon reaching home late this evening. Blessed Mothers' Day to all Mothers over the world! At the same time, may the Grace of God be upon Myanmar and her people. Thank you, Father.
