Meaningful Gifts

Words of Wisdom from my Cooperating Teacher, Shirley Hoe:
"To Caleb, the road ahead will definitely be uneven and covered with lots of obtacles. But with your positive attitude and passion, I believe you could be a teacher the pupils will look up to.
All the best to you!"

Quotable Quote

Your life story is not written with a pen, but with your actions. Action subdues fear. "When we challenge our fears, we master them. When we wrestle with our problems, they lose their grip on us. When we dare to confront the things that scare us, we open the door to personal liberty." (Anonmyous)

Did you ever talk to God?

G Am
Did you ever talk to God above?
D7 G7
Tell Him that you need a friend
Em
to love. Pray in Jesus' name
Am D7 G7
believing that God answers prayer
G
Have you told Him
Am D7
all your cares and woes?
G7 Em
Every tiny little fear He knows
Am
You can know He'll always hear
D7 G7 C G7
And He will answer prayer

You can whisper in a crowd to Him
You can cry when you're alone to Him
You don't have to pray out loud to Him;
He knows your thoughts
On a lofty mountain peak, He's there
In a meadow by a stream, He's there
Anywhere on earth you go,
He's been there from the start.

Find the answer in His word; It's true
You'll be strong because He walks with you
By His faithfulness He'll change you, too
God answers prayer

Make It Count!

We lived in a world that is in complete turmoil now. Every government is doing everything they could to ride through the coming days of global financial crisis.

The fact is, living on earth has never been smooth-sailing since the fall of Adam and Eve; and it will not get any better. 'Soon', and 'very soon', the world will be 'coerced' to unite. ONE Government. What that happens, the anti-christ will rise and many will witness the final battle, namely, The Armageddon!

Meanwhile, it is our individual responsibility to live life to the fullest. In short, "Make It Count!" Don't waste it away.

That's my day!

At 7:30am, Kevin arrived at my place in a cab. We reached BNSS at 7:50am. Took the opportunity to converse with Boys, Primers & Officers who were present. At 8:15am, the photographer engaged by BNSS came & took pictures for BB. From 8:30am, the Boys had drill and BB training. At 10am, the company celebrated Boys' birthdays for the month of July. Thanks to Mdm Jasmine Low for the 2 cakes i.e. walnut & peach.

While Boys were preparing for CQ 2008, Sheng Xiong helped to draft out a BB report for BNSS's School Magazine 2008. In addition, I'd a fruitful session with Mdm Jasmine Low w.r.t. BB matters. At noon, we ended today's parade. Once again, reminded Boys of my absence in BB w.e.f. 1 Aug 2008. Thereafter, i'd a wonderful conversation with Primers and Officers. Everyone was updated of the upcoming activities on 19 July 2008 i.e. BB Cares etceteras.

Watched a movie at TM (Red Cliff) in the afternoon and had dinner with Mark in the evening at Changi Airport, T3. That's my day! Thanks be to God!

"Get to School!"

Jimmy's mother called out to him at seven in the morning, "Jimmy, get up! It's time for school." There was no answer. She called again, this time more loudly, "Jimmy get up! It's time for school." Once more there was no answer. Exasperated, she went to his room and shook him saying, "Jimmy, it's time to get ready for school."

He answered, "Mother, I'm not going to school. There are fifteen hundred kids at that school and every one of them hates me. I'm not going to school."

"Get to school!" she replied sharply.

But, Mother, all the teachers hate me too. I saw three of them talking the other day and one of them was pointing his finger at me. I know they all hate me, so I'm not going to school," Jimmy answered.

"Get to school!" his mother demanded again.

"But, Mother, I don't understand it. Why would you want to put me through all of that torture and suffering?" he protested.

"Jimmy, for two good reasons," she fired back. "First, you're forty-two years old. Secondly, you're the principal."

There are few of us who, on some days, have not felt like Jimmy. We just do not want to go to school. That school, of course, is life itself, where dropping out or playing hooky can seem a much better idea than facing the challenges that inevitably lay ahead.

Success begins the moment we understand that life is about beginning. Opportunity is always where you are, never where you were. To get anywhere you must launch out for somewhere or you will get nowhere.

Each of us has an ability to begin to create what we need from something that is already here. The only way to learn anything thoroughly is by starting at the bottom (except when learning how to swim). To be successful, do what you can. Everyone who has arrived had to begin where they were.

The truth is, you can't know what you can do until you try. The most important catalyst to reaching your dream is starting right where you are.
No longer forward nor behind
I look in hope or fear;
But, grateful, take the good I find,
The best of now and here.
(John Greenleaf Whittier)

Runners

It is written, "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.

Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air."
